The Sketch

I have been doing a lot of sketches lately. All my life I have just wanted to draw. Even though drawing is probably the most under appreciated art form; sketching is the bottom of that field. However, I find relief in the sketch. In my opinion no other form holds more energy or freedom than the sketch. Its what I want with my life, it is my relief and my freedom. Nothing holds more truth in my life than when I put my pencil down and let go.

really dig the gallery - I've been into new x-men lately too and these sketches are pretty sweet =)

my only critique would be that on your pin-ups the length between the hip and the knees should be just a smidge longer - there quads seem too short (long legs are sexy in my opinion) usually when that happens to me its a product of wanting to draw knees but not having enough room on the paper - just a thought, I'm no expert ;)

Saw your Super-girl up and took a look around your other art. I really like your style. I'm more drawn to the sketches than the colored pieces, I guess again it's due to your drawing style and the line work really emphasises that.

Well, if you look at Mark Brooks work she is shorter than any other member of the team. However the current artist of the team has her taller. Plus due to the fact that the pic was not scanned but photographed. Then some cropping had to be done. The actually pic she looks taller and more proportioned. Hope that clears things up. If not sorry but thanks for the comment and encouragement.
